New York, NY: August 20, 2025 – New York auto dealer Jack Weidinger, President of the Weidinger Automotive Group and immediate past Chairman of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA), is helping drive the future of automotive education with a $25,000 donation to Suffolk Community College’s Automotive Technology program.
The contribution will help expand training opportunities for students entering the fast-growing automotive service industry. Weidinger was joined by students from Suffolk County Community College at North Bay Cadillac GMC’s Service Center for the check presentation.
Weidinger’s donation helps pave the way for a major expansion that is currently underway at Suffolk Community College. The college plans to double the size of its automotive program so it can train more technicians and meet the growing industry demand for skilled professionals.
“I’m proud to support Suffolk Community College’s efforts to create more opportunities for the next generation of automotive professionals. The need for highly skilled technicians is greater than ever, and this program is helping students launch successful, well-paying careers right here on Long Island,” – Jack Weidinger.
“Jack’s leadership and commitment to education have always stood out. This donation reinforces the important partnership between local dealerships and educational institutions to address the growing demand for technicians. Suffolk’s expansion will open doors for hundreds of students and strengthen the entire automotive industry in our region,” said Mark Schienberg, president of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association.
Jack Weidinger is a third-generation auto dealer whose family has been selling luxury vehicles on Long Island since 1938. After earning a finance degree from Lehigh University and an MBA from Columbia University, Weidinger joined the family business in 1996.
Today, he leads a group of premier dealerships including North Bay Cadillac, North Bay Buick GMC, and Jaguar Land Rover Freeport. He is deeply committed to philanthropy and community engagement, supporting organizations such as the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and GNYADA’s annual Operation Warm Coat Drive.
