Kurt Russell Joins 'Yellowstone' Spinoff 'The Madison' TV Series

Kurt Russell (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters) has been cast as a series regular in the new Yellowstone drama spinoff The Madison from Taylor Sheridan, starring Michelle Pfeiffer. Ahead of the show’s first-season premiere, we hear the show will receive an early renewal for a sophomore season.

The Madison is a heartfelt exploration of grief and human connection, following a New York City family in the Madison River Valley of central Montana.

Russell joins the previously announced cast of Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Kevin Zegers.

The series is executive produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, Russell and Keith Cox. Produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions, The Madison is part of the growing Yellowstone universe.

Most recently, Russell starred in the Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters alongside his son, Wyatt Russell. While the elder Russell has appeared in various TV shows throughout his lengthy career, he is perhaps best known for his work in films like Overboard, Grindhouse, Big Trouble in Little China, Tombstone, Escape from New York, Escape from L.A., Backdraft, The Thing and Tequila Sunrise, to name a few.

Russell’s most recent feature film credits include Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Pete Berg’s Deepwater Horizon, Fast and Furious 8, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2 and Smurfs. He is repped by UTA.
