Vacancy: Communications & Events Traineeship

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the team with the preparation of external communications material for DIGITALEUROPE’s channels: social media (particularly Instagram), newsletters, PPT presentations 
  • Support the team with the preparation of internal communications material for DIGITALEUROPE’s members (internal newsletters, PPT presentations…) 
  • Support in the dissemination of such material across our channels 
  • Support in managing and creating content for our website, as well as helping us boost our presence and impact online 
  • Support in the organisation of events by co-creating letters of invitation, coordinating content and logistics, on-site or online support, or assisting with post-event reports 
  • Support the team in maintaining and updating DIGITALEUROPE’s media database 
  • Conduct research and analysis on EU digital policies or communication trends 

Key Requirements: 

  • Recent graduate (typically in EU affairs, politics, international relations, or law) with a strong interest in digital policy  
  • Strong interest in digital communications, particularly social media & newsletters – a previous experience or degree in a related field is a plus. 
  • Interest in EU affairs and digital policies. 
  • Detail-oriented, organized, excellent follow-through skills. 
  • Creative thinking and IT literate. Some experience in using digital communications softwares like Canva or WordPress is a plus. 
  • Ability to balance multiple projects, maintain a fast pace and meet scheduled deadlines. 
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills in English. 
  • Quick at retrieving and selecting relevant information on the internet. 
  • A sociable team player, dynamic, proactive, keen to learn and flexible. 

Details of training and supervision

You will join a growing and dynamic team of 70 and will get hands-on training from staff, with regular learning opportunities. Your work will be supervised by a line manager. We work a mixture of office and remote work.

Opportunities to practice language skills 

The working language is English, but there are plenty of opportunities to practice French. 

Dates and duration

From 1 September 2026 for 6/12 months.

Nationality/visa restrictions  

Only EU nationals or candidates with the necessary paperwork to work in Belgium will be considered.

Remuneration: 

Paid internship (in addition to any possible funding received from your sending university).
