SAMBA: A job fair was organized today by the District Employment & Counselling Centre Samba with the objective of providing employment opportunities to jobseekers of the district.

A total of 24 companies participated in the job fair and collectively offered more than 600 vacancies across various sectors. The participating companies included Cadila Pharmaceutical Ltd, Saraswati Agro Chemicals (INDIA) Pvt. Ltd, Jai Beverages Pvt Ltd, VKC Nuts Pvt Ltd, Abinza Pharma Pvt. Ltd, Astrofine Pharma Pvt ltd, Zeiss Pharma Ltd and other recruiters. The companies offered job opportunities in sectors such as Industry, Pharmaceutical, Agriculture, Security, Sales and other related fields.

The Job Fair witnessed enthusiastic participation from the youth. A total of 150 candidates were shortlisted and 20 candidates were selected on the spot by different recruiting employers. Speaking on the occasion, Member Legislative Assembly Ramgarh Constituency Devender Kumar Manyal guided and encouraged the youth   to actively participate in the Job Fair and avail advantage of the employment opportunities being offered by the participating companies. 

Assistant Director Employment Naresh Kumar advised the youth to get themselves registered on the Mission YUVA (www.missionyuva.jk.gov.in) portal to avail the incentives and schemes of the Government meant for unemployed youth. He informed that after registration with the Mission YUVA, candidates become eligible to apply for subsidized financial assistance schemes including Nano and MSME in Sunrise & Focus sectors, besides Existing Enterprises scheme for promoting the existing business. He further informed that the registered candidates can apply for jobs online through Mission YUVA portal and can also avail short-duration free skill development courses being organized by the Employment Department during job fairs.
