It’d be hard to top the year Paul Juda had in (and out) of gymnastics… so he’s not even going to try.
On Saturday, the 2024 Olympic team bronze medalist and 2022 NCAA all-around champion confirmed his retirement on the broadcast of night two of men’s competition at the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships.
“Juda-nation does want to know: will you be back?” the interviewer asked.
“USA gym, everybody that’s been a part of this big journey, thank you,” Juda said. “This has been the journey of a lifetime. I’ve got no regrets. I’m full of joy, and I’m ready to move on with my life. So thank you so much for the ride and the emotions and the highs and the lows. It’s been the best, best, best years of my life. Thank you, gymnastics.”
Juda was part of the historic bronze medal the U.S. brought home from 2023 Worlds, setting off a chain reaction of success. Since then, he’s won Olympic bronze, led Michigan to an NCAA title, and gotten engaged to fellow Michigan gymnast Reyna Guggino (moments after the Wolverines won said title).
Congratulations on an epic career, Paul!
