The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell by 26.22 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,796.24. The benchmark index dropped by 0.92 percent compared to the previous trading day, with declines recorded across all sector sub-indices except for hotels and tourism, which gained 1.32 percent.
Of the listed companies, 225 saw their share prices decline, 24 recorded gains, and one remained unchanged.
During the day’s session, 17.67 million shares of 323 companies were traded in 78,226 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs6.91 billion. Shares of City Hotel Limited hit the positive circuit limit, while Sikles Hydropower Limited reached the negative circuit.
By transaction value, Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited led the market with Rs267.75 million worth of shares traded. In terms of volume, Siddhartha Equity Fund topped the chart with 606,317 shares changing hands.
