Patna: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Friday announced the recruitment of 935 assistant education development officers (AEDOs) in the state’s education department. According to the notification, online applications will be accepted from Aug 27 to Sept 26. Candidates must hold a graduate degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university, be at least 21 years of age, and not exceed 37 years. The selection will be based solely on a written examination, with no interview stage. The exam will consist of three papers – general language, general studies and general aptitude. Unreserved category candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks to qualify. The successful candidates will be appointed on a basic monthly salary of Rs 29,200. The commission has also released the category-wise distribution of the 935 posts. Of these, 374 are unreserved, 93 are reserved for the economically weaker section (EWS), 150 for scheduled castes, 10 for scheduled tribes, 168 for the extremely backward class, 112 for the backward class, and 28 for women from the backward class. The BPSC said the number of vacancies may be revised, depending on further directions from the requisitioning department.
