The Cook Labor Government
has launched the Collie Job Connect app and website to support Collie’s
workforce transition and help local workers find work close to home.
A key election
commitment, the platform will connect job seekers, including workers impacted
by industry change, with local employers through a simple and accessible
digital service, with support also provided by the Collie Jobs and Skills
Centre.
The platform provides a
central hub for employment and training information, enabling users to search
for jobs, create résumés, receive tailored job alerts and explore career
pathways linked to Collie’s evolving industries.
More than 40 local jobs
across a number of different sectors, including industry, government, care and
hospitality, are already listed.
Local employers will
benefit from a free and easy-to-use system to advertise vacancies, access a
local talent pool and promote roles through digital tools such as QR-coded job
posters.
The platform includes
features such as skills matching, candidate shortlisting tools and the ability
to prioritise workers transitioning to new employment.
The app complements the
work of the Transition consultants based at the South Regional TAFE Collie
campus and career advisors based at the Collie Jobs and Skills Centre.
