KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Northland broke ground on a new Workforce Development Center Wednesday, August 27.
The 145,000 square foot facility sits just north of Gladstone, spanning about 2.5 football fields.
The new facility will serve as a state-of-the-art training hub for both high school and adult students in the Kansas City region to advance workforce development and educational opportunities.
Former Missouri Governor Mike Parson calls it a national example of how to strengthen the region.
“It will be the model for the state of Missouri, and it will be the model for the nation. When they finish, it’s gonna be a great day for the Kansas City region, for the Northland, and more importantly for the youth of the state. These kids, in this area, will have an opportunity to work [in fields] that they would’ve never had before.“
The Workforce Development Center will connect job seekers with resume building, skills training, career counseling, and support for workers to meet local business and industry demands
The Center is expected to open in 2027.
