India is set to face China in its final Super 4s match of the Hockey Asia Cup 2025 at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium in Rajgir today. After defeating Malaysia on Thursday in their second Super 4 match, India will look to get one up against China in their final Super 4 match to secure their position in the finals.
These two sides last met in the group stages of the same tournament, where India managed to narrowly edge past China by a margin of 4-3. Team India will look to do the same in order to have a chance to qualify for the final.
India’s last victory over China saw the team captain, Harmanpreet Singh, deliver a remarkable hat-trick. Upon being pressed by reporters on how he plans to battle the Chinese side, Harmanpreet said that the team plans to carry their learnings from their previous clash into the upcoming game.
“China is a good defensive team, so we hope that we did well and learning from the last match we played with them. From what we analysed, we will make sure we cover everything and get ready for the next match,” Harmanpreet told reporters.
