Types of projects funded
Youth exchanges
Activities covered
Short exchange periods for groups of young people outside of their school environment. These could include programmes where young people learn and exchange through workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, and outdoor activities.
Participants’ learning experiences are recognised through a Youthpass.
Duration
Youth exchanges last between 5 and 21 days. This excludes travelling time.
Financial support
The Erasmus+ grant supports travel as well as practical and activity-related costs which are needed for the exchange. Funding rules are found in the Programme Guide.
Conditions
Youth exchanges are open to people between the ages of 13 and 30. To be a group leader in a youth exchange, you must be at least 18 years old.
Youth workers
Activities covered
Projects by organisations to help their youth workers in their professional development and networking. Examples of activities can be seminars, training courses, networking events, study visits, or job shadowing/observation periods abroad.
Duration
From 3 to 24 months.
Financial support
Funding amounts are dependent on multiple factors including travel and subsistence costs. Full budget details are available in the Programme Guide.
Conditions
Activities must take place in the country of one of the participating organisations. Projects can include up to 50 people. Their activities can last from 2 to 60 days.
Youth participation activities
Activities covered
Projects which enable young people to get involved in civic, cultural and political life. By taking part, they can get their voice heard on topics that matter to them.
Activities can take place outside formal education or training environments.
Duration
Projects can last between 3 and 24 months. This includes preparation, implementation and follow-up phases.
Financial support
The Erasmus+ grant supports practical and activity-related costs necessary for the projects. Details about the maximum available grants are found in the Programme Guide.
Conditions
Activities should be youth-driven and can be implemented by informal groups of young people or organisations working with young people. Young people should be actively involved at every stage of the project.
