Big burgers and bigger ambitions for Japan’s Burger King

In just six years, Burger King has grown fourfold in terms of number of locations in Japan. Now it’s set to quintuple in size from there.

If the company meets this ambitious goal, it will be No. 2 in the market after McDonald’s.

“Based on our calculations, 1,600 locations are possible in the Japanese market,” said Kazuhiro Nomura, president of BK Japan Holdings, which operates Burger King in Japan.
