World No. 2 Chinese Taipei defeated No. 1 Japan, 3-0, in the final of the XII BFA U-15 Asian Championship in front of over 5,000 spectators in Tainan to become Asia U-15 champions.
Chinese Taipei and Japan claimed the two spots awarded to Asia in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2026, pending WBSC Asia’s final confirmation.
Shao-Chieh Ko shut out Japan, going the distance and allowing only four hits and three walks, while striking out four.
Japan’s Eito Kuzumoto shut out Chinese Taipei for five innings, allowing three hits and four walks, while striking out one. The hosts, playing as the away team in the final, took the lead in the top of the sixth against reliever Haruki Narita on a two-out and two-RBI triple by shortstop Bo-you Chen. They added an insurance run in the top of the seventh against Taiga Miura on centre fielder Rui-Xin Chen’s two-out RBI single.
No. 4 Korea outscored No. 24 Philippines, 15-0, to earn the bronze medal.

No. 17 Germany and No. 15 Czechia became the first teams to qualify for the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2026 at the end of the U-15 European Championship in July. The Americas will have five spots, Africa and Oceania one, with the 12th participant a Wild Card awarded by the WBSC.
