With just nine games remaining in the regular season, every win is important, but for the Liberty, their last win was a litmus test for their championship viability. Playing against the Minnesota Lynx, who hold the best record in the WNBA, the Liberty put together a solid start-to-finish effort, defeating the Lynx 85-75 in New York. All five starters scored in double figures for the Liberty, led by Jonquel Jones, who scored 22 on 7-for-10 from the field.

Mired in a slump that has produced just one win in their last 14 games, the Sky won’t make the playoffs, but they can still make an impact in their last 10 games, building chemistry and hope for the future. Angel Reese returned from injury and fought valiantly in a 94-88 loss to the Seattle Storm. Reese led the team in her return with 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

The Sky and Liberty have played twice this season, with the Liberty taking both games.
