Triple-A Durham shortstop Carson Williams has struggled to make contact this year, but when he does connect, he’s doing plenty of damage. Williams went 3-for-4 with a triple and his 22nd home run of the season on Sunday. It was his fifth home run in 15 games this month.

Williams is hitting .214/.317/.444 overall this year, and he’s striking out 34% of the time. But he has shown some improvement as the season has worn on. He’s hitting .250/.352/.534 since June 1, and his 16 home runs are tied for the fifth most in the minors over that stretch.
