According to Evan Woodbery of MLive, the young utility player was picked up by the Dodgers after the Toronto Blue Jays signed Kennedy, along with pitcher Joe Mantiply, to minor league deals in July.
The Dodgers made the move to add Kennedy to their 40-man roster after placing third baseman Max Muncy on the 10-day injured list for the second time this season with an oblique strain.
Buddy Kennedy’s experience has spanned five different teams, but he has only appeared in 60 major league games since 2022. In the 140 at-bats he’s had, Kennedy has career statistics that include a .193 batting average, .288 on-base percentage, .300 slugging percentage, and a .588 OPS while hitting two home runs and 19 RBI. His ability to play at first base, second base, and third base made the Dodgers interested in him
