The Plumas County Library announces two opportunities for help with technology in Quincy: beginning computer classes on Tuesdays and technology help — both drop-in and appointment-based — on Thursdays.
Each six-week course of Beginners’ Computer Classes starts with “How Do I Turn This Thing On?” and then builds on the previous week’s lesson. Reservations are required. Space and laptops are limited.
The next session starts Sept. 23 and continues until Oct. 28. Classes are held Tuesdays 11 a.m. to noon with a 30-minute followup session for questions. Those interested can call 530-283-6413 to reserve a spot.
The Technology Thursdays program offers assistance with technology in daily life. This service is offered at the Quincy library’s literacy office every Thursday, with drop-in help available from noon to 3 p.m. and scheduled appointments between 3 and 5 p.m.
Organizers say topics include
- Keeping data safe
- Browsing the internet
- Accessing patient portals
- Using online Department of Motor Vehicles services
- Transferring files and photos
- Setting up new phones or laptops
“Drop by if you have a problem or a quick question about your device,” say staff. “We are here to help!” The Quincy library is located at 445 Jackson St.
