Volvo Car Financial Services has launched Volvo Car Insurance Services, an independent insurance agency in the U.S.
The initial rollout markets include Alabama, Arizona, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and Wyoming. Volvo plans to expand into additional states.
Volvo Cars says the goal of the business decision is to provide customers with a “seamless” ownership experience via tailored coverage, nationwide repair access, and a simplified digital quoting process. Volvo Car Insurance Services is fully integrated into the company’s digital ecosystem, including the Volvo Cars app.
In collaboration with industry-leading insurance companies, Volvo Car Insurance Services connects customers with a broad range of insurance solutions, including auto, home, umbrella, and select specialty products, which it says are underwritten by Nationwide, Progressive, The Hartford, and Travelers.
“By launching Volvo Car Insurance Services, we are extending Volvo Cars’ commitment to safety and simplicity well beyond the vehicle,” said Tony Nicolosi, Volvo Car Financial Services president and CEO, in a press release. “This expanded offering combines a seamless digital experience with flexible, personalized coverage options, supported by licensed insurance agents who provide expert, transparent guidance, creating a new standard for what customers should expect from automotive insurance.”
According to Volvo, through its insurance services, customers can access “a carefully selected panel of trusted insurance providers” and compare coverage and pricing that best fit their lifestyle.
Licensed agents provide personalized support and knowledge on coverage options specific to each Volvo car, which may include the option to use Volvo Genuine Parts, “helping ensure repairs meet the highest standards of performance and safety,” the release states. Volvo notes that access to its Genuine Parts is dependent on carrier selection, as not all carriers offer an OEM parts endorsement. Carrier availability also varies by state and policy selection, and is subject to change.
In July, American Honda Motor Co. established a licensed insurance agency for Honda and Acura customers.
Honda Insurance Solutions provides a convenient shopping experience with competitive pricing and coverage options for autos, motorcycles, RVs, homes, and more, according to a press release from the company.
A wide range of insurance options are available, including auto insurance with optional OEM parts coverage, which “ensures claim repairs are made using Honda and Acura Genuine Parts, helping to protect vehicle value,” the release states.
