Waymo — a well-known Tesla competitor in the robotaxi space — has received approval to test its autonomous vehicles in New York City.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced that Waymo will commence testing its self-driving cars in Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn through the end of September, according to Forbes.
Waymo already operates autonomous taxi services in Arizona, California, Texas, and Georgia. This marks the first permit issued by New York.
